Stock ref: DS1720
Circa 1930s
A wonderfully coloured and patinated early Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Stool with the now rare to find original lattice webbed leather seat. Of typical rectangular form with four square and octagonally carved legs joined by stretchers, a signature mouse carved prominently running up one leg. The wooden frame is tight and solid and being darker fumed from new now presents in a deep rich chestnut colour with the expected age related old small nicks and chips. The original leather stapping has the expected wear and stretching but remains usable and in very good condition following a thorough feeding and conditioning, with only one strap having split and being rejoined in the past.
