A Mouseman 3′ refectory style occasional coffee table, featuring an adzed single plank top supported by two large carved octagonal legs and sledge feet joined by a single chamferred stretcher. A large mouse is carved prominently in high relief to one
of the legs.

Acquired directly from the original owner who, in the 60s and early 70s, lived in Kilburn next door to R. Thompson’s workshop. This table was a personal wedding gift in 1975  from Robert Thompson’s grandson Robert Thompson Cartwright. The table presents
in superb condition.  Some years ago it was returned to Thompson’s, cleaned and the top coated in polyurethane varnish to protect it from water stains and spills. In line with current market preferences this has now been removed and the top wax
finished,  revealing a wonderful naturally deep honey colour and patination. There is no evidence of staining or damage.
