Stock ref: DS1243
Circa 1930s
Superb and rare pair of early 11″ tall octagonal Mouseman candlesticks with a typically early mouse carved to a facet on one of the candlesticks. The octagonal bases has been carved separately and wedge jointed from underneath to the stick columns. Wonderful
rich depth of colour and patina with no losses or repairs, just very slight natural age related shrinkage to the wedge joint on the underside.
Regularly used as intended they were originally given as a gift by Robert Thompson to a family relative, together with a fruitbowl (stock ref: DS1242), and hence by family decent prior to my purchase.
Size: 10(dia) x 28(h)cm, 4″ x 11″, each.
