Circa late 1930s

An excellent beautifully patinated and richly coloured early solid oak adzed  13″ Table Lamp by Robert Mouseman Thompson. Typical flared square base with central octagonally carved and tapering stem with a beautifully carved high backed mouse on one facet of the stem. To improve stability the original owners have, at some point after original purchase, had the original base inset  into a larger adzed oak base, the colour and graining of which now looks well blended with the  original lamp.

Newly cleaned, waxed and rewired with  period braided three core earthed wiring and new antiqued brass BC22 bulb holder.

Excellent condition and full working order.

Privately acquired from the original owning family.
