Stock ref: DS2010
Circa 1940s/50s
A superb example of a solid oak refectory style Dining or Reception Table from the Kilburn workshops of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson. They are rare to market in this trestle leg form, it’s usual to see twin baluster legs. The top is constructed from four planks, adzed and fox tongue dowel jointed, the dowling prominent in three rows of three along the plank sections. The curved trestle legs are constructed from 2 1/4″ thick sections of oak, adzed to both sides, dowel pinned to the sledge feet below. A particularly large and superbly carved mouse is in high relief to the edge of one leg.
Beautiful condition with a rich depth of naturally aged colour, a gem of a piece for Mouseman aficionados.
We also have two 1960s 6′ dowel topped dining tables in our storage stock, until we can get them online please contact us for further details.
