Circa 1950s / early 60s
An excellent example of the earlier 18″ solid oak Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson three legged cow / milking stool. Natural wood burrs visible in the subtly adzed seat and standing on three splayed and tapered octagonally carved legs which are visibly wedge jointed through the seat.
This earlier design is distinguishable from more modern examples by the use of a thicker 4.5cm seat and the positioning of the mouse carving on the rear outer edge instead of being at the front in the kidney shaping.
Excellent condition and aged medium fumed colour with tight leg joints.
Size: 50(w) x 44(d) x 46(h)cm
