Circa 1940s

A superb pair of early Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson Burr Oak Bookends. Burr oak is very difficult to carve, especially around the intricate mice detailing but adds enormous character, colour and patina to a piece. Excellent condition with a rich warm depth of colour with just the normal holes and slight cracking in the burr which is a natural characteristic of all burr oak.
