Circa 1960s
An excellent example of the solid oak three legged cow / milking stool by Robert Mouseman Thompson of Kilburn. The seat of typical subtly adzed kidney shape, supported on three octagonally carved and tapering splayed legs, jointed and wedged through the seat. In line with earlier craftsmanship the seat is thicker than is found on more modern stools.
Solid leg joints and excellent darker fumed rich depth of colour and patina from usage.
