A superb Mouseman Trinket Box from the workshop of Robert Thompson, hewn from a single block of  solid English Oak, tooled with the distictive adzing to the inner and all visible outer sides. Wonderfully grained and a  particularly large mouse is carved in high relief to the box lid. The whole piece presents in a deep rich dark honey / nutty brown colour, a result of original fuming, aging and polishing with clear wax. Free from any stains or damage.
