Stock ref: DS1391
Circa late 1940s/50s
A superb earlier made Robert Mouseman Thompson oak workbox in excellent condition internally and externally with a rich colour and patina. Features a panelled storage cabinet with hinged lid with a drawer below, standing on four square and octagonally carved legs with a well defined mouse carved prominently to the front leg. This earlier made piece features a number of differences to the currently made piece, most noticeably it is adzed to the entire framework and panelling including the rear. The side panels are also of longer length than on 60s onwards pieces. This panelling extends to the rear, on more modern pieces the rear has been simplified with a single plain board. This piece is also lockable, with 2 keys and a working lock.
