Stock ref: DS1440
Circa 1950s/60s
A wonderful example of a glass fronted Sid Pollard Yorkshire oak framed fire screen with an inlaid wool tapestry of a country windmill scene, shaped wooden handle to the top and traditional visible pinned construction. The back panel is solid oak and has been recently fitted by our ex mouseman restorer to replace a deteriorating original back. Well constructed it is typically unmarked as he, almost uniquely amongst the Yorkshire craftsmen, didn’t mark his work, preferring to let his craftsmanship speak for itself.Excellent waxed condition and colour.
