A superb bespoke commissioned solid oak  Glazed Bookcase or Display Cabinet from the ex mouseman craftsman  Wilf ‘Squirrelman’ Hutchinson of Husthwaite near Thirsk.   5′ 1″ wide it is constructed with three leaded and glazed doors which open to reveal two height adjustable inner shelves.  With a depth of 13 3/4″ it is wide enough for the largest books. The oak framework is hand adzed to all visible front, top and side surfaces. Complimented by traditional wrought iron fittings, a squirrel is carved to the lower centre and Wilfs name unusually stamped into the wood above the carved squirrel.

It presents in superb condition throughout, medium fumed and wax finished.
